8-Week Mindfulness Stress Reduction Course (MBSR)

The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programme is the most recognised and established mindfulness course, taught all over the world. It is a great way to get started on your mindful journey and to discover what mindfulness can do for you.

 

8-week MBSR COURSE FOR GROUPS AND INDIVIDUALS

 

As a certified MBSR teacher I offer trauma informed live MBSR courses in Luxembourg and live online MBSR courses.

The course involves meeting weekly for 2/2.5 hours over 8 weeks, as well as a Half-Day Retreat (only for live courses in Luxembourg).

 

Through guided meditations, group dialogue, individually tailored instructions and home assignments, you will learn the essential principles of mindfulness and techniques to build your personal home practice and access the wide-ranging benefits well beyond the course.

In 8 weeks you will learn how to:

  • Reduce mind wandering and enable you to improve your focus, find more calm and clarity and appreciate the present moment
  • Self-regulate your moods, so that you are better able to pause in challenging situations and manage your responses more effectively
  • Recognise the patterns of worrying and self-criticism that often generate more stress
  • Relate to yourself with a more accepting and kind stance
  • Become more skillful with challenging emotions and stop reacting to them in unhelpful ways
  • Have more mindful, and thus meaningful, communication, connections and relationships
  • Improve your well-being by developing practical self-care tools to help you thrive, build resilience and develop a more loving attitude towards yourself

MBSR COURSE CURRICULUM:

Session 1 – An introduction to Mindfulness.
Session 2 – Perceptions of stressors and responding skillfully. 
Session 3 – The Pleasure and Power in being present.
Session 4 – Cultivating Curiosity and Openness to the full range of experience, recognizing and reducing the negative effects of habitual stress reactivity.
Session 5 – Paying attention to your capacity to respond and recover more rapidly from everyday challenges and stressors. 
Session 6 – Interpersonal Mindfulness and Building Resilience.
Session 7 – Reflecting on life-style choices. Practicing self-care.
Session 8 – A Mindful Life, Continuing the practice after the course

Please note:

Before being accepted each person needs to submit an Application form and hold a Free Orientational Call, during which I will answer any questions you may have and assess if this is the right time for you to take the course.

I practice trauma informed mindfulness courses and I take my role as a teacher seriously and with full responsibility for each individual. Contrary to a general belief, this course is not suitable for everyone.

Participants will be asked to practice daily home assignments for about 45 minutes 6 days a week for the duration of the course. Research shows that the effectiveness of the MBSR course is related to the commitment to the daily practice.

Home assignments include: guided meditation practices, readings, writing and reflection exercises.

  • Meeting weekly for 1 hour over 8 weeks (due to the personal nature of the 1 on 1 sessions, the call duration is shorter than for group sessions)

  • Recordings of guided meditations to support your home practice
  • Support via email between sessions
  • 60-minute coaching call 2 weeks after the completion of the course to track your progress and additional support
